Appearance[]
Zero appeared as a young child with red eyes and long white hair, which made others easily mistake him for a girl such as Chanhyeok. In the past, however, Zero had looked more masculine and had shorter hair. When he spoke, he sounded like a girl and boy speaking at the same time, according to Gyuhwan. He could only make his voice sound normal by transmitting his thoughts mentally. Until episode 44, he wore a blue Beaver Movers shirt. After having been stabbed and shattered by 01, he regenerated without the shirt, looking naked; however, Shinyeong gave him her red tracksuit jacket 2 episodes later.
Zero's height was later confirmed to be 4' 5, and his weight was also confirmed at 68 lbs.
Personality[]
Zero appears to be childish, naive, troubled, and unassuming of his situation. He has trouble comprehending what is socially appropriate. He is somewhat shy and is unable to fluently speak without the use of telepathy.
Zero seemingly wants to do the right thing, as shown when he saves the life of Gyuhwan, but he doesn't know how to go about it. This is shown when he uses excessive defense against Gyuhwan's friends and when he kills people without warning, even if they are bad people. He is also not above insulting Variants before killing them.
In addition, he's shown to be very mission-focused, he believes he came into being to "save" humanity, which was influenced by his history with horrible people. He often views people's spirits as diseased and wishes to remove evil. He seemingly "saves" diseased people by either killing them or awakening a tumor within them. This, however, changes when he bonds with Gyuhwan and his friends.
Zero displays sadness when he destroys trees, referring to them as living things.
Background[]
Zero's first memory is waking up in a barren alleyway naked. While walking around outside, he was given clothes by a woman who invited him to her house. He noticed that her soul was diseased and wondered why. Then, her husband came in and beat her for bringing in another stray child, so Zero killed the man, which he thought was the right thing to do. The woman instead cried and forced him to leave.
With nowhere to go, Zero was approached by a group of gang members who would offer him food and shelter, but only if he helped them in return. While living in their base, he was subjected to horrible abuse, one instance being a woman who used him as a punching bag to deal with her stress. This was when Zero decided humanity was corrupted and proceeded to kill all of the gang members.
Later, he found a cell with a group of variants. While there, he killed every single one of them but was discovered by multiple agents from the MM Corporation. They viewed him as little more than a lab rat, with the exception of one woman. She was kind enough to bring him snacks, so he grew to like her but still saw that her spirit was diseased. He decided to give her the "gift" of monsterization for her kindness. Later, the woman was discovered to have turned into a cocoon, living out her dream.
While being delivered by Sangjin Kim to MM-C, he managed to escape somehow.
Plot[]
Offscreen, Zero heals Gyuhwan after falling off a small cliff and notices the boy's diseased soul. He is later seen standing outside a shack where 01, 04 and 07 are hiding. 01 notices his presence.

Zero uses psychometry on Seongbin.
Seongbin's group notices Zero's faint light nearby so he Seongbin sends Chanhyeok to investigate. Chanhyeok ends up finding the child and calls out to the group. He is then approached by Seongbin and his group. After using psychometry on Seongbin to remind him of his past, Zero is bludgeoned by him.
It is revealed later that Zero survived. He proceeds to save Chayeong Park from 03 by blowing its limbs apart with his powers. After it escapes, Zero approaches Chayeong to heal her. Upon healing her, she asks who he is, believing that Zero is one of variants; then, she proceeds to run from him after his exposition. He eventually sees a smoke beacon created by Jayden and Jongpil, leading him to Gyuhwan.

Zero attacked by 04.

Gyuhwan helping Zero.
Zero then encounters Gyuhwan and his group in combat with 04. 04 attacks Zero with the intent to kill him because of 03's death while managing to inflict a seemlingly fatal wound, alerting Gyuwhan. Before 04 was finally neutralised, he imposes a lethal wound on Gyuwhan; causing him and Zero to fall down a hill. Zero heals Gyuhwan and introduces himself. Gyuhwan realises that Zero's radio wave effect is only active so long as he is conscious. As such, Gyuhwan asks if Zero can go back to sleep and preparing to knock him out; putting Zero at unease.
As Gyuhwan asks why Zero speaks so brokenly and genderlessly: Zero initiates telepathy using his psychometry, and reveals his true voice. He tells Gyuhwan that all of humanity's souls are wounded; that he has come to save them. By annihilating them and ask Gyuhwun if he wants him to do it with a smile on his face. Gyuhwan tells zero that's wrong, Zero asked why. Gyuhwan tries to explain why, but he is interrupted when 07 appears, alerted by Zero. During Gyuhwan's fight against 07 that has the intention of burrying them in the cavern, the variant almost kills Gyuhwan launching him a boulder used as a defense against the venom before trying to kill him, but Zero, using his telekinesis, blocks Gyuhwan from being hit, then he sends 07 flying outside of the cave into grass. Gyuhwan grabs Zero's hand and tries to run out of the cave, but ends up tripping on a rock, letting go of Zero, and he gets crushed.
Zero soon recovers and uses his telekinesis to move all of the rocks off of him, he aims his hand at Shinyeong, but Gyuhwan stands in the way telling him that she's a friend. However, Shineyong still tries to attack Zero, so he sends her flying into a tree and Gyuhwan rushes to her aid, as she was unable to feel her legs. Jayden calls Zero a monster and tries to cut him with his machete, but his arms were blown off. Jongpil runs at Zero with his pipe, only to get his legs broken. Gyuhwan confronts Zero, aiming his shotgun at Zero's forehead telling him to stop. Zero doesn't listen and walks directly up to Gyuhwan until the barrel of the shotgun was touching his head.
Gyuhwan lowers the shotgun and tells Zero to help him, so he doesn't forget him, putting a hand on his shoulder. That's when Zero tells Gyuhwan about his "origins".
After Zero had shown what he did to Miseon Ahn in his past, Gyuhwan appeared and told him that what he did wasn't happiness. Gyuhwan explains that he thinks that everyone gets "sick" at one time or another, referring to the "diseased" souls Zero can see, Gyuhwan tells Zero that he believes that everyone should keep on living despite their "diseases", telling Zero that what he did was false happiness, confusing the child. After a moment of thinking, Gyuhwan told him that he was constantly bullied, and his dad was the only one who could've helped him, but he was sick, Gyuhwan says that the only thing he wanted was for his life to end, Zero tells him that that's why his soul is diseased, to which Gyuhwan agrees. Gyuhwan continues explaining, telling Zero that he actually hasn't tried to end his life, asking Zero if that's strange, to which the child agrees.
Gyuhwan says he thinks he actually wanted to get revenge on Seongbin, Gyuhwan explains that the monsters he fought made Seongbin seem like no big deal. Zero asks if Gyuhwan is really going to get revenge on Seongbin, Gyuhwan confirms. Zero tells him that he shouldn't die until that chance comes, and Gyuhwan agrees. Gyuhwan explains that everyone can have a disease of the heart, but that doesn't mean that their life is worthless and that even people with "sick" souls have dreams, and there's always a chance they can stand up again and overcome their illnesses. Gyuhwan tells Zero that there's no need for him to force happiness on people, as it wouldn't be real. He says that people will find happiness on their own, without Zero's help, even though some may not succeed, maybe that would make it more rewarding.
Gyuhwan asks Zero if he understood everything he said, and if he's not going to hurt anyone else. Zero says that he understood and agrees to not hurt anyone else. Gyuhwan smiles at him and asks if he could heal his friends, and the child agrees, healing Shinyeong, Jayden and Jongpil. Zero asks what the reason for his existence is, which Gyuhwan explains that the child didn't just come into being, and that he was born, surprising Zero. Gyuhwan says that nobody cares about the reason for his existence, and tells Zero to enjoy life. Zero asks Gyuhwan if he could be his friend, which Gyuhwan agrees.
Zero smiles at Gyuhwan but gets stabbed in the back by a tentacle and is soon chopped into bits by 01 however, he wakes up, regenerates and reconstructs himself. He then tells Gyuhwan and the others to run away as he begins battling with 01. 01 questions Zero's actions of why he's helping the humans and not teaming up with him. He responds by saying that 01 doesn't have a soul and then preceeds in blowing 01's left arm off. Zero is shocked to see that 01 regrows it in seconds. 01 then reveals his secret of absorbing more of his own species than of humans, which in return makes him powerful. He tries to blow the other arm off and 01 then adds that his regeneration isn't infinite, just like Zero's. Zero is pinned between two pillars each sending out three tentacles. He uses his telekinesis to block these. Just when Zero was about to get his skull pierced by 01, he is rescued by Gyuhwan and Shinyeong. Gyuhwan shoots one of the pillars, freeing Zero. An irritated 01 tries to shoot Gyuhwan but Zero uses his telekinesis to block the attacks, allowing Gyuhwan to get close enough and shoot 01 directly in the chest. However, 01 was able to land a direct hit on Gyuhwan before blowing up. Zero then uses his powers to heal him. Afterwards, Shinyeong apologizes and thanks him for helping them and offering her tracksuit jacket to wear. Zero smiles and says: "No problem". The three of them then proceed to regroup with Jayden and Jongpil and ask if Zero could heal Jongpil's injured leg, to which he agrees.
After healing Jonpil's injured leg, ...
Abilities[]

Zero is possibly the most powerful being in existence. 01 even refers to him as a God.
However Zero cannot use his abilities forever, as they require lives to use. Zero has explained that if he wanted to use his ability, someone else would have to die. Also, it is worth noting that after he had used his telekinesis ability some time after, he was exhausted, not being able to stand up anymore.
- Psychometry - Zero can see into someone's past with bodily contact.
- Telekinesis - Zero has the ability to handle materials without physical interaction. Additionally, he is able to levitate himself this way.
- Force Field - Zero is able to create force fields, these force fields are able to fully block rounds from a large rifle. However, they are known to be able to crack if enough force is applied.
- Enhance Biomechanical Regeneration - Zero can recover from fatal wounds even dismemberment without consequence. His regeneration is rapid and it is stated that it looks like as if the damaged body parts are being summoned from elsewhere.
- Signal Jamming - Zero passively emits blockades which prevents any electromagnetic wave within the radio spectrum to pass, effectively blocking all cellular connection or long distance communication within a 3 mile radius. If Zero is unconscious, then this ability becomes inactive. Also, the signal jamming does not affect landlines.
- Healing Factor - Zero can heal people within his range, he can only heal people if they are severely hurt or near-death but cannot heal someone if they're already dead.
- Monsterization (Cocoon Formation) - He can awaken something in the human genome turning it into a tumor-like origin (monsterization) with one of these powers or with having contact with any person. He is unable to reverse the awakening, as he cannot put an awakened soul back to sleep.
- Telepathy - His vocal chords are different from human's resulting into split voices; however, he speaks like a normal kid when he communicates through telepathy.

a diseased soul from zeros perspective
- Soul Sight - Zero can see the colour of others' souls, which allows him to indicate the condition of souls. Unlike humans, Variants don't have souls. Also, if the creature, or thing, has a soul, he can sense where they are.
