The MM-C Variants are a group of variants that were experimented on by the MM Corporation, leading to their hatred towards humanity, earning them the title of "Monsters."
Background[]
These variants lived normal human lives until being taken in by the MM Corporation. They were researched in order to further medicine and possibly other reasons. After brutal "experimentation", the monsters developed a severe hatred for humanity. Eventually, they took over MM-C and killed Sangjin Kim, who was delivering Zero.
Plot[]
The variants begin their plans by disguising themselves as employees for a retreat camp near MM-C, luring in Yeongchan High Class 1 and 2 students and teachers. First, they take all of their phones away without arousing suspicion. Later, 05 kills the student, Mira Han, and takes her identity. The Variants put an out of order sign on the bathroom where she was killed. Before the schools, talent show, 05 kills off Sujin Park and Jinhui Noh, with Hayeong Lee almost getting away, only for Samshik to eat her brains.
At the talent show, 05 announces their plans of genocide. Every Variant except Samshik surrounds the students and teachers, killing them one by one. Eventually, they are interrupted when Gyuhwan arrives with a Shotgun and proceeds to shoot one of their own. 04 and 07 try to kill the boy, only to almost end up getting shot. 01 then demands that they retreat, so 04 makes a smokescreen and they make their escape.
01, 04 and 07 make it to an abandoned shack, while 03, Samshik and 05 are doing their own thing: Samshik pretends to be Hayeong around Seongbin and his group; 05 is hunting for survivors but is ultimately killed by Shinyeong Kang.
03 chases down Chayeong Park but is instead hunted by Zero. 01, 04 and 07 find 03 before dying, so 01 absorbs his memories and promises to avenge him. Moments later, a smoke beacon is set off in the distance. 01 sends 04 to deal with that and sends 07 to kill remaining survivors.
While Samshik reveals himself as a monster to Seongbin's group and deals with the monsterizing Seongbin, 01 begins thinking the MM will start to notice them, so he decides to hurry with his plans. 07 hunts at least 6 humans and notices that 04 is taking to long, so goes after it. 04 approaches Gyuhwan's group, killing Director Lee and Hyeyeon Ahn in the process. While retreating, it runs into and injures Zero, but is shot by Gyuhwan while it's distracted. 04 pierces Gyuhwan's heart before dying, though.
