Hyunshik Lim is part of Joon Shin's criminal gang.
Background[]
Hyunshik was arrested as a con artist, a crime which Wook Pyeon points out he was very good at. At the onset of the apocalypse, he joins Joon Shin's gang and travels around South Korea to survive. He is afraid of heights. He’s a notorious conman. It doesn't matter if it’s finance, real estate, Business, or religion. He’ll cheat anyone he can.
Appearance[]
Hyunshik is a short man with gray spiky hair and pale complexion. He wears a button down and khakis.
Personality[]
Hyunshik is a good actor and has working knowledge of psychology. He uses this to tell believable stories to manipulate other people into cooperating with the criminals, and presumably it is how he succeeded as a con artist before getting arrested. He is very proud of this ability and maniacally laughs about it when successful. He also appears to be the only one who genuinely cares for the other members of his gang, as he was worried about Gapsu Seo and Ihyun Jo being left behind, and mourned his boss's presumed death.
Plot[]
Hyunshik arrives at the Green Roof Apartments with the gang and helps take out the Steroid Monster. He then goes to some of the survivors (except for the monsterfying ones) and tells a tale about how he and his gang escaped another safe zone. Eun Lee silently sees through his words, however. He leaves, satisfied with his work. He participates in killing the Tentacle Monster. He usually sticks to the background, though when the tables turn on the gang, he notices Joon Shin doubled over in pain. The two get to the prison bus and prepare to escape, though Hyunshik is reluctant to abandon Gapsu and Ihyun. Hyunshik is helpless as he watches Wook steal the bus key and throw Joon out the bus, which leads to his presumed death. Hyunshik is bitter about this, but Wook just tells him to worry about himself. Hyunshik accompanies Wook as they continue to look for a way to survive, but often has to hide in those situations as he lacks a weapon to fight with. As he climbs the apartment, he runs into Hyuk. Hyuk, recognizing that Hyunshik is the smartest remaining among the survivors, passes on the leadership role to him. Hyuk asks Hyunshik to go to the roof and use the tether to cross over to the hill, but Hyuk later discovers he hasn't yet done so as Hyunshik is afraid of heights. A monsterfied Joon Shin suddenly appears, and Hyunshik becomes its first victim, being brutally batted off the roof of the apartment.

- He and Hoyeon Baek are the only members of the gang of Joon Shin in not transforming into monsters.
