Hyeyeon Ahn was a teacher at Yeongchan High. During the Variant takeover, she became allies with Gyuhwan and Shinyeong.
Appearance[]
Hyeyeon had black hair and big brown eyes, and she was seen dressed with dark pants and a yellow mustard blouse.
Personality[]
Hyeyeon was very friendly and seemingly got along well with her co-workers and students. She was shown to be very quiet and shy, often frozen in fear when the monsters attacked the gym. She was always concerned about the safety of the students, wondering what she should do to help, unlike Ms.Kim. She was also very noble, sacrificing herself in order to save Gyuhwan from Four's attack at the cost of her own life.
Plot[]
Hyeyeon first appeared in the teachers lounge while Jayden and Director Lee played a card game and questions Ms.Kim if she would join them in the presentation. Hyeyeon was present in the gym when the monsters attacked. She stood beside Director Lee, frozen in fear until Gyunhwan came in with a shotgun and killed a variant. After everyone fled, she and some of her colleagues and students went to the staff room to take refuge.
After an attempt to take the PE Teacher's car, Five found the survivors hiding in the room, killing two students. Gyuhwan and Shinyeong confronted Five, distracting it long enough for the others to flee. Hyeyeon and Suyeon took refuge in two cabins in the ladies' room.
Ms. Ahn is tested to confirm she's not a Variant
Hyeyeon, even terrified, questioned Suyeon if they should go out and help the students, but was quickly rejected, as Suyeon said that it would only get them killed. After hearing the bathroom door open, the two went silent until they saw it was Gyuhwan. Hyeyeon opened the cabin door calling for him, but he pointed a gun at her. Using the powder liquid inside the capsules on Shinyeong's arrows, she pierced Hyeyeon and Suyeon's arms to confirm they were human. Having confirmed this, Gyuhwan proposed the three of them to go with him to the crashed truck where he took the shotgun.
Hyeyeon finds the truck driver's body
When they arrived, she stood beside the truck as a lookout, where she spotted a cap from Beavers Movers and the body of the driver, freaking out and alerting everyone as Shinyeong tried to calm her down. Gyuhwan took the corpse's phone and played his recording while she listened. A little later, her group noticed a smoke beacon, lit by Jayden and Jongpil.
Unfortunately, Four went to investigate this, and ended up running into the group. To make matters worse, Director Lee ruined their plan, having stolen the shotgun from Gyuhwan in order to kill Four (missing on every single shot) and getting himself killed, with the shotgun in Four's hands. Shinyeong, Jongpil and Jayden made their best in order to stop Four to destroy the shotgun; and then, the variant blew dust blinding everyone.

As Four was about to attack Gyuhwan because of getting wounded, Hyeyeon runs and pushes him out of the way, sacrificing herself to save him. Four punched her in the head, making her hit a tree and breaking her bones. Suyeon went to her side and questioned her on why she didn't stood still. A bleeding Hyeyeon admited that she felt like it was the right thing to do, since she was a teacher, before passing away.
Following her death, Gyuhwan, enraged by her death, hunts down and kills Four, avenging her. When he rescues Zero and discovers his healing abilities, he begs him to help save Hyeyeon, but he states that it was already to late to save her as she was already gone.
Relationships[]
Suyeon Kim[]
Hyeyeon and Suyeon were co-workers and friends. After "Mira's" attack in the teacher's lounge, the two hid in the bathroom stalls together. When Hyeyeon questioned if they should go out and do something to help the students, Suyeon countered that they'd better stay hidden as they wouldn't know what to do. After Hyeyeon sacrifices herself to save Gyuhwan, Suyeon runs beside her and in tears questions her attitude, crying in denial as she sees her friend die in her arms and begging her to wake up.
Jayden[]
Hyeyeon and Jayden were co-workers and probably got along well.
Gyuhwan Han[]
Gyuhwan and Hyeyeon barely knew each other, as he didn't have any classes with her, but she was always friendly when meeting him in the hallways. She got worried about his safety and was happy to see him again after Five's attack, accompanying him to the truck. During the confrontation with Four, Hyeyeon sacrifices herself by pushing Gyuhwan out of the way of Four's punch. His attitude and her death fills Gyuhwan with fury, prompting him to run after Four and kill him to avenge her. When he discovers about Zero's healing abilities, he begs him to save Mrs. Ahn. But Zero replies that it was too late, leaving Gyuhwan saddened by her death.
Shinyeong Kang[]
Hyeyeon and Shinyeong got along well and it's likely she was their teacher. When Hyeyeon screams at the sight of the truck driver's body, Shinyeong runs to see what was going on and holds her to try to calm her down. She is furious and sad to see her being killed by Four.
